The news media has been talking about the potential canine member of the first family for weeks, and Obama has finally decided on a breed. Obama wants to find a labradoodle or goldendoodle for his two daughters, Sasha and Malia. Thousands of breeders would love to put their dogs in for consideration, but Obama is hoping to find the first dog at an animal shelter to emphasize the importance of pet adoptions. Because Obama is hoping to find the dog from an animal shelter, he won’t have a huge selection, whether he chooses from black labradoodles, brown goldendoodles, or a unique mixture of color and hair condition will be up to chance.
However, it’s good to know that the President supports animal adoption, because there are so many pets each year that are killed because adoption centers can’t find good homes. With Obama as an example, Americans will start to put forth more consideration for adopting pets.
